Case Study: Cutting Edge Racing
The Business
Cutting Edge Racing are a kart team who have a long string of titles to their name, including being British Champions in 2016. They regularly compete in the Super One British Championship and club championships across the country, and offer race support, driver tuition and kart preparation across all classes of kart racing.
The Brief
To design and produce a wide range of bold and practical teamwear to compliment the teams current race suits and bodywork. A full range of teamwear was needed from coats to t-shirts, hoodies, fleeces and softshell jackets, as well as a children’s range.
Challenges
The clothing needed to be bright and striking, but at the same time be practical and durable enough to be worn by mechanics.
The teamwear also needed to reflect the team logo and create a distinctive brand in the paddock which stands out from other rival teams.
The teamwear needed to be available with a short turnaround time, and be suitable for all ages and sizes.
Solution
We designed a wide range of teamwear, reflecting the blue, black, white and fluro orange of the racesuits and bodywork.
For adults the clothing ranged from printed t-shirts, polo shirts and hoodies, to embroidered coats, fleeces and softshell jackets.
While the clothing was blue and black with white trim, each item was selected so that it was black in places where they would get the most wear and tear, so they would be suitable for mechanics and wouldn’t get easily marked.
The children’s range was designed to be colourful and fun, with bold blue t-shirts, and black hoodies and jackets.
